Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting is the most popular ceremony in the country. This year’s annual ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 2from 7 to 9 pm at the Rockefeller Plaza between 48th and 51st Streets and 5th and 6th Avenues.

You and your family can watch the illumination of the giant tree to kick off the holiday season. On top of that, the iconic event will feature an array of star-studded guest appearances as well as live performers. The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting is a free event but will be broadcast live on television if you would prefer to avoid the crowds.

Seaport’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

On Tuesday, December 1 at 6 pm, Seaport’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Fulton Street in honor of Giving Tuesday. Like the event mentioned above, this ceremony will include an assortment of celebrity guests, such as host Lauren Scala of NBC 4 New York, and famous performers such as Connell Cruise and American Idol season 14winner Nick Fradiani. On top of that, the Mariners’ Temple Baptist Church Choir will take the stage to showcase their singing talents.

2015 Annual Park Avenue Tree Lighting Ceremony

The 2015 Annual Park Avenue Tree Lighting Ceremony is set to take place on Sunday, December 6at 6:30 pm at the Brick Presbyterian Church on Park Avenue at 91st Street. For 70 years, this event has honored the men and women who died in World War II by displaying festively lit trees between 54th and 97th Streets that symbolize peace and the sacrifices made to keep our country safe. This year, they’ll continue their tradition with a lighting ceremony outside the Brick Presbyterian Church to remind the city of this event’s special meaning.

19th Annual Dana Holiday Lighting

The 19th Annual Dana Holiday Lighting ceremony will be filled with holiday family fun for all. This event kicks off the holiday season on Thursday, December 3 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center in Central Park at 110th Street between 5th and Lenox Avenues. It will feature everything from carolers to hot cocoa and cookies to a live ice carving demonstration to really get you in the mood to celebrate the holidays. Plus your kids will get a chance to meet the big guy in red. It will also feature the beautiful lighting ceremony of the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center and the flotilla of trees located on the Harlem Meer towards the end of the event.
